At Kansas City ... I don't know the name of the train but as recollection serves, it was a mail train perhaps to Omaha. Any help or knowledge would be helpful!

Technically both Burlington Northern locomotives, CB&Q 9982 and Great Northern NW5 992 are in use on this cloudy day in Fargo.

The "obscar" from the Nebraska Zephyr "Train of the Gods".

The Nebraska Zephyr somewhere between Chicago, IL and Burlington, IA. Based on the overhead lines, I'd have to say Union, IL.

While an IRM employee guards the crossing with a "Stop" sign, 504 crosses Olson Rd. as the last locomotive in the parade line up for the Illnois Railroad Museum's Diesel Days celebration.

CB&Q's Silver Pilot leads the articulated "Train of the Gods" stainless steel passenger set Eastbound on the Museum's trackage which parallels UP's line to the right.

Museum volunteers put a lot of work into restoring this high hood Burlington SD24, and their efforts have certainly paid off, as the unit shows off it's brand new "Chinese Red" paint at the Illino... (more)
