A strange lashup ... an IHB yard transfer between IHB Gibson (IN) Yard and Blue Island (IL) Yard, led by a GTW SD40-3, leased from the KCS.

Heading down the 6-track thoroughfare, through Hyde Park bound for Markham Yard.

A busy spot often, Brighton Park Crossing here has a northbound WC transfer hitting the diamonds just before a southbound UP/NS transfer likely bound for Ashland Yard.

A scene that may vanish ...

This is the only time I ever witnessed trains passing in downtown Chicago on the CN.

Up from Homewood, IC 6057 and a set of 4 CN motors approach downtown Chicago the old fashioned way. Metra/South Shore electric lines make this 6-track thoroughfare fare pretty unique.
