Idling away in the UP 12th St. yard on a sunny Saturday morning. The cut of cars seen behind this locomotive is the only cut of cars in the entire yard today. I have never seen the yard so empty.

The UP engineering special turns south to begin it's trip down the Desoto Sub. The C&NW Heritage Unit has the honors.
Looking north, you can see the profile of the Gateway Arch, as the engineering special prepares to wye the train and head back west through St. Louis toward the Desoto Sub.
The old steam engine sits dead in the sun looking as good as it ever did.
