It is a quiet Colorado morning in the snow and the Ski Train is running about 25 minutes late as it rounds the curve at the base of Coal Creek Canyon just below tunnel one.
The Ansco Ski Train makes its first run of the 2006-2007 winter season. The train, led by SKTX 242 (ex-AMTK 242) hustles west near Chem Spur (MP 14.5) on Union Pacific's Moffat Tunnel Subdivision.
In blizzard like conditions, the ski train rolls into Winter Park to pick up its days worth of skiiers, i highly recommend this trip if you've never taken it.
