Membership has its privileges! The Conrail Historical Society's summer meeting was a grand tour of the SMS Lines. The morning started off with a trip around the Pureland Industrial park, chauffeur... (more)
Just some SD40-2s passing CP MO in Cresson, nothing special right? Well, there was. This was in 2014, well after they had been generally replaced with the ubiquitous (for the time) SD40E fleet.
Believe it or not, this photo was not taken when the SD40-2 ruled the mountain. It was years later when this incredible chance to see a pair of them (including this Conrail SD40-2R rebuild) shovin... (more)
The Bald Eagle Branch is far quieter than the main show on the Pittsburgh Line on the outskirts of town, and while it's exciting to catch a road freight running down the middle of the street, Tyro... (more)
A mix of old and new (well, new in 2014, anyway): an ACS-64 and classic position lights on the NEC.

A westbound "filleted" intermodal cruises into Charm city on a sunny, but snowy, March day.

I stumbled onto a photo freight at Helmstetter's and just happened to catch 734 coming around the bend before the sun dropped below the mountain.
734 doing what it did for years: hauling passengers up and down the mountain. Here she does that around the famous Helmstetter's Curve.
York has never looked so good!
But the WM didn't HAVE GP30s! Doesn't matter. The 501 still looks great in the sun in front of the Cumberland station.
I thought I was heading over to CSX to catch something non-NS. Nooope. A westbound oil train heading down the Philly Sub had this pair of NS units on it.
