After leaving the North Carolina Transportation Museum, Norfolk and Western J Class Steam Locomotive 611 starts her trip home crossing the Yadkin River in Linwood, NC.
The return of 611 is actually here in front of my own eyes as it heads north towards Greensboro to wye before heading back to Spencer on its test run.
After the river got stirred up by a passing motorboat, 214 speeds across the Yadkin River Bridge into Linwood Yard for a crew change, then onto Lynchburg and Rutherford Pennsylvania.
