On the left, merchandise by container from the west coast heads east. Through the southern bore, a potash train is picking up speed as it crests its summit off the Harriman Cutoff.

An eastbound empty grain train is about to enter the Hermosa Tunnels (twin bores) on the western slope of Sherman Hill between Laramine and Cheyenne. The actual summit is two miles to the east.

Grain loads behind six big 6-axle units pass welders working on track 3 at Tie Siding. Despite the azure sky it is still a typically windy day in the High Plains.
