These rebuilt SD24s were called SD26s by Santa Fe and were being replaced on the hump by rebuilt SD39s. Many of them later went to Guilford.
Rebuilt SD39s were used on the hump at Barstow.

The 4031 was a trailing unit on the BNSF H BALT1 31, which derailed in Cajon Pass,CA. on February 1, 1996. The 4031 was later scrapped.
