Getting the day started off with Amtrak number 6. The train was running 2 1/2 hours late this morning. So I was able to get some shots that aren't usually possible.

For being a couple 20 plus year old AC4400CW, they are looking pretty good. A new coat of paint can do wonders for 6392 and 7153. They are hauling the Roper to Helper manifest.

Gilluly loop is the go to, for turning around an evening eastbound, on the old Rio Grande. Three BNSF ES44AC 6103, 6011, and 5948 and DPU 9245 7701 move this trackage rights train across the Union... (more)

I don't get the chance to to catch Amtrak #5 very often. On Friday one day from the longest day of the year, and he was on time, I was able to pull it off.

UP 8901 with DPU 5838 are grinding their guts out. With a 188 car train at Faust, Utah on the Lynndyl Subdivision. No room for error if one of units hiccup's.

Union Pacific tier 4 2587 leads a loaded auto train on the west side of Tooele.

UP 7473 with Desert Peak of the Stansbury Mountain range, for a back drop. Head eastbound through the Tooele Valley on the LASL.

Three SD70ACe 8731, 9035, 8997 are coming off the Shafter Subdivision, on to the the Lynndyl Subdivision at Smelter, Utah.
