Nevada Northern 40 leads a southbound mixed train over Steptoe Creek

A couple of railroaders talk about their next moves in front of the newly installed wig-wag signals while the high drivered 4-6-0 and stout 2-8-0 simmer on the mild winter night.

The 51" drivers slip and a dark plume of smoke roars out of the stack of the 1909 ALCO as #93 blows for Lackawanna Crossing during a series of runbys.

Snow capped peaks and sagebrush surround the high desert town while an ore train hauled by the stout 2-8-0 moves south out of the Ely yard.

#93 speeds its short ore train out of the yard while the crew of the steam crane puts the 100-ton piece of machine away for the afternoon after re-railing a derailed hopper.

The 1907 100-ton steam crane re-rails an ore car in the Ely Yard. Thanks to the dedication of the museum members, this historic piece can still be seen working as it would have over a century ago.
