BNSF's Northtown Yard is the site of many unique locomotives on their roster. Seen here is BNSF 1722, an EMD SD9 and BNSF 3454, an EMD SW1500.
Heat waves from these locomotives pulling it's train back and forth up the hill and through Dayton's Bluff blur out the city behind them.
A small thunderstorm serves as a background to a Westbound autorack train.

A trains heading up and down the hill at the same time is a very common occurence here.
CP 9677 detours East across Wisconsin through a huge downpour and thunderstorm.
A loaded Eastbound kicks up dust at it charges into the early morning sun.
Threatning skies soon open up as Westbound BNSF 9643 comes around the bend for an Eastbound meet.
Looking down the only road for miles and miles.
The storm gathers force and starts pounding anything in it's path as it moves East, but this westbound coal train is almost through the back side of the storm.
The helpers add the needed horsepower to get up and over the West side of Crawford Hill.
Track equipment sits on a storage track as another loaded train rounds the curve and heads down and out of the Powder River Basin.
