Waiting on a steam train in the San Juan Mountains, hearing the whistle and stack-talk play off the surrounding mountains, a nice sunny day, I think I've found my "happy place".

Wrapping up a day's excursion, D&S #478 coasts into Durango only minutes away from the severed end of the line at the roundhouse.
Durango and Silverton's K-28 #478 leaves the open valley of Silverton on it's trek South to Durango.
Back lighting seemed par for the course Sunday on our photo charter, still, a few opportunities were to be had. This was one of 7 runby locations offered up by the D&S.
DRG&W #478 makes it's way South towards Durango over the newer of the two bridges which cross the Animas River.
