The Silver Star.

RF&P always kept their E8s clean! This is Amtrak's Silver Star crossing the South Anna River.
Locomotives: RFP 137(GP35), RFP 127(GP40), RFP 121(GP40), and RFP 1007(E8A). All RF&P odd numbered road diesels and faced south. Obviously this was a NB train.

Returning from Culpeper in nice evening light.
Dropping down Arrowhead grade south of Charlottesville. Notice difference in grille between lead unit and trailing FP7s. This train could only be shot in the long days of summer in light.
