Late in its service life, GM&O F3(A) 883A was given new block initials using the "ICG" font style. It was one of two boiler-equipped F3's assigned to the Chicago-Joliet commuter trains.

This power consist represents some of newest models working for the L&N back in the late 1970's. 7047, 8004, and 8081 were near Chicago on 12-2-79.
