A day-long overcast breaks as Nickel Plate 765 makes this beautiful evening charge past the Carland Grain Elevator, about 10 miles northwest of Owosso, Michigan.

Under gloomy skies, NKP 765 rolls towards Alma. The light drizzle wasn't enough to keep about 60 photographers, a few Carland residents, and a sheriff's deputy from assembling at the crossing
