With 8444 removed from the Denver-bound fan trip, a pair of UP E units takes over for the last leg of the trip south from Cheyenne.

Just a couple minutes after sunrise a empty coal train rolls down grade into the yard, which is about 1/2 mile to the north of this location just north of the UP main line.

A auto train slowly creeps into Cheyenne for a crew change before continuing east.
