RS3s were the first locomotives on the newly formed Providence and Worcester. On the books the P&W dates back to 1844 but was never a real operating railroad untill Penn Central was formed.

Coal extra running with 30 loads past the Berkeley Mills at Martin Street, Berkeley section of Cumberland, Rhode Island heading up to Worcester, Massachusetts.
