6 units in various colors and models are departing Missoula, MT westbound on the former Northern Pacific. This was a colorful time on the newly formed BN.

Renumbered U boats are heading east through Garrison, MT after the merger with BN in the fall of 1970.

A Northern Pacific U boat and SP&S Alco FA2 are at the throat of Yardley waiting to depart westbound.

Northern Pacific Alcos 912 and 908 are at the shops in Pasco, WA in the summer of 1970. Note the differing style of numbers and a roof mounted bell on only one of the units.

A pair of Baldwin switchers wait for their next assignment at Yardley yard in Spokane in April 1968. These units didn't last much longer as they were gone the following year.
