A pair of consecutively numbered thoroughbred beauties lead today's Frisco Local through Gate City. They are high nosed SD40-2's 3222 and 3221.

Northbound empties stretch across Copper Creek Viaduct behind two bright future leaders.

CSX 278 crosses the US 23 bridge at Speers Ferry and is greeted by brilliant fall colors. The CSX Bright Future paint scheme goes nicely with the leaves along the right-of-way.

CSX 588 is southbound with 100 coal loads as she crosses over US Highway 23 and the Norfolk Southern Appalachia District below.

North of Pikeville, KY

CSX 437 and 4503 has just popped out of the tunnel and crossed the river on another trip to Myra for floodloading. These units worked the plant at Myra for over a week straight.

The Extra South is eastbound and framed by one of the many idle coal loaders it will pass on it's way to Erwin and further south.

On the last stretch of the Big Sandy Sub and about to cross onto the Kingsport Sub, the extra south prepares to take on the mountains and grades of the former Clinchfield Railroad.

The Spirit of Waycross rounds a sharp curve northbound at Viper on the Rockhouse Sub.

Southbound freight out of Queensgate crosses into Kentucky, passing the Courtyard Marriot-a popular lodging location for railfans visiting the Cincy area.

NS 2632, a brand new SD70M in white primer, leads a train of empties westbound along the hillside through Glenita near bootleg trestle.

Brand new "Ace", CSX 4834 sits idle in the siding at Ford's Branch near West End of Shelby Yard pointing EB. This is my first sighting of the new power.
