There is something timeless about steam, even when cold and not alive. With a brand new year 2005 boiler, the SP2472 will live on for many decades to come.

It will be sad to see this GGRM shop building vacated in June and eventually torn down. Lots of tools and parts to move besides the interesting task of moving out the old girl.

From the outside, there is no mistaking this lovely lady.

The SP 2472 continues to get it's major boiler rebuild/overhaul at the GGRM in S.F.. It will be receiving it's next FRA ultrasound soon and the hope is to have her all back together for the final ... (more)
