A northbound through passenger train exits a partially covered section of track and enters a heavy band of rain. Thankfully I am covered by the station platform!

This intercity train from Guangzhou is running at least a half-hour late, but the timing was just right for me as a northbound EMU was about to block my view.

Intercity train T817 emerges from the 2.4km Beacon Hill Tunnel and passes through Kowloon Tong Station.

T804 has left the crowded Kowloon Peninsula for the mountains of the New Territories. Not too far ahead and just over the border with China is Shenzhen, another large city.

T816 is close to the Chinese border as it parallels the Fanling Highway, Route 9. Since it is a Sunday traffic on the highway is light, but the MTR East Rail Line is busy as always.

A through train from Guangzhou arrives about 15 minutes late behind a typical DF11. The Nikon advertisement is still a prominent feature of Hung Hom.
