The Rivertrain comes off the east end of the long Yolo Bypass trestle, approaching the old Sacramento Northern location of Haviland near the Sac River.

The Sierra Northern's Brunch Rivertrain is just underway eastbound, passing GE 50-tonner #50 at the former Yolo Shortline headquarters in Woodland.

The Sierra Northern's Brunch Rivertrain is in the middle of the long wooden trestle over the Yolo Bypass heading east. The Sacramento Airport is a short distance away.

Sierra Northern GP7 134 is running long-hood forward with the Sunday Brunch train as it heads southeast running along the Sacramento River at the old Sacramento Northern location of Haviland.

#8 is actually ex-Dardenelle & Russelville #8, then owned by Shortline Enterprises, but lettered for the Sierra on this trip with SRR #3. The #8 was later sold to the Nevada State Railroad Museum... (more)

The halcyon days of Sierra Railroad excursions were drawing to a close. Along with #3 is 2-8-0 #28 and 2-8-2 #34. Of the three, only #28 is operable today.

Sierra Railroad number 48, an Ex-Santa Fe GP20 rests at the head of a dinner train in Oakdale Ca. A lot of the dinner train cars are being worked on currently. Nikon D70, 18-70mm.
