In August of 1972, a BN transfer run heads for the bridge over the Columbia River into Portland, OR. The train is departing BN's Vancouver Yard with four ex-SP&S Alco RS3s for power.
A small pocket of sun illuminates BNSF 1746. This unit has been working Vancouver regularly since i've moved to the north west and sports some unique burn marks from apparently the dynamic brakes.... (more)
