NKP 765 leads "The Horseshoe Curve Special" across Mayes Bridge in a scene I just could not describe. Tranquil and at peace is all the words I can find.

While dozens of other photographers opted to shoot the other side of the curve, four of us enjoyed the view from the east side as NKP 765 rolled back towards Altoona.

NS 061, with NKP 765 on the point, knocks down Automatic 1721W en route to Altoona. NS 8102 (PRR) and NS 8098 (CR) accompany the 765 for the ride.

Many railfans of all ages came out to the park to enjoy 765 making its last run up the mountain on NS 061 Horseshoe Curve Special over Memorial day weekend.
