Here a Big Boy hauls a freight on the new, longer but less steep grade known as the Harriman Cutoff. This new line allows some trains to run without helpers.

About three years ago this area was single track. To accomodate more trains another line has been put in.
Another full UP lashup on the CSX IL Sub. UP 4003 comes off the Carbon siding and heads for E. St. Louis. Hope he remembered to turn on his lights! Q686-23.
