With 37 loads, Saturday's Driftwood Turn required some extra power to climb Keating Summit! It warms my heart to see a quad of Six-Motor ALCO's bracketing a lease unit that will soon be returned.

The Driftwood Turn has dropped his inbound cars in the siding at South Driftwood and is heading up the main to North Driftwood to pick up his outbound train to take back to Olean.

Running as NS KH52, the WNY&P Driftwood Turn drags 24 loads up the 2.6% grade of Keating Summit. Brings back fond memories of my teenage years shooting CN HR616's and CP M630's in Michigan!

Rumor has it that 636 had hit the ground in Corry on the way to Meadville as 397. No confirmation has been made to my knowledge, but it sure looks like she may have lost her step. Tomorrow HLCX ... (more)
