NS train 355 prepares to depart Meridian on its way to New Orleans, LA after setting out some cars at the yard.

After waiting over 2 hours, watching Amtrak's Crescent #19 and NS 225 go by, NS train 355 finally showed up with two heritage units on front.

One of the few NS units still in all black led SB train #355 through the south end of Hattiesburg during my Spring Break.

NS train 355 glides along the pine tree lined main on the NO&NE. The train is slowing to go into the hole at Basic Siding to meet NS train 130 before continuing southward.

After getting a track authority from the NO&NE Dispatcher, NS 355 notches out to leave Meridian, MS.

The elevated curve in Lumberton allows trains to soar around it between 40-50mph and stay level. It also makes for a neat photo op.

7622 and 4102 led a very short SB manifest as the sun drifted down into the clear blue sky and shadows grew longer.

UP 5131 followed by 2 other UP units led NS 355 south towards New Orleans, but were held up at the Amtrak Depot in Laurel while A59 sat out 90 frack sand cars.
