Remarks & Notes
4800 Returns to the NEC!

... in some form. A former Amtrak P40DC, newly acquired by NJ Transit, makes one of its first daylight test runs down the Northeast Corridor. Many will recall that number 4800 was the 'original' GG-1 owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad. Also note the ALP-44E, no. 4417, on the rear of the train. NJ Transit will be initiating a New York to Atlantic City service next year with trains operating with a P40 on one end and an ALP on the other. The ALP will be used on the Northeast Corridor (electrified portion of the trip), while the P40 will be used on the Atlantic City Line (non-electrified portion of the trip).
