Remarks & Notes
Former NC&StL "City of Memphis" 1103 became L&N 2599 in the early '60s. Used mostly for extra service, it's on the rear of the northbound Pan-American, train 98, leaving Louisville at dusk. Tomorrow, this car and another coach will bring Army draftees from Cincinnati down to Louisville, where they'll be taken by bus to Fort Knox and basic training.
