Deep in "the Bunker" at Union Pacific's Harriman Dispatch Center in Omaha, Nebraska, dispatchers control the movement of hundreds of trains on the UP's 36,000-mile system. Seen here are dispatchers handling rail traffic in Colorado - note the closed-circuit TV images of Moffet Tunnel on the large screens above the dispatchers. Other informaiton is displayed on these screens as well, including real-time weather. Each dispatcher monitors train movements and lines switches using the multiple computer screens in front of them, and they are also in contact with each train via radio.
