This loc, which is an EMD MRS-1, is preserved in ALASKA, at WASILLA where the M.A.T.I. acquired it in 2000.
#1818 is seen in St-Gervais-Les-Bains station, in december 1953. SNCF hired it near "US ARMY TRANSPORTATION CORPS", in Germany, during six mounths, for testing it to replace steam engines on its lines around the star of La Rochelle.
The descent of the 1818 was made by the construction in Alsthom factories of 20 locomotives of the type 060-DB then renumbered CC 65000.
