Sumpter Power: Plymouth #110. The primary yard goat around the Sumpter Valley Yard in McEwen, Oregon is this 10-ton Plymouth Gas Mechanical Switcher. The build date of this powerful little critter is something of a mystery, as even the SVRy's own website doesn't list one. This engine came to Sumpter Valley in 1982 as a gift from the Crown Zellerbach Corporation, in Camas, Washington. It has served the restored line faithfully for three decades now, handling the yard duties and saving lots of wear and tear on the steam engines in the process. Until recently, this engine was numbered 101 but after undergoing some mechanical improvements as well as a new paint job, she now carries the number 110.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
