Victoria's oldest operating mainline steam locomotive Y112 climbs the 1 in 52 grade of the Warrenheip Bank out of Ballarat, with K153 assisting from the rear. The train was running local shuttles between Ballarat and Lal Lal Block Point.
Y112 is an 0-6-0 built in Ballarat at the Phoenix Foundry in 1889. The Y is based at Ballarat East and generally only runs once a year. K153 is a 2-8-0 built by the Victorian Railways at Newport Workshops in 1940, and is part of the main Steamrail fleet based at Newport. The K had brought the passenger cars up from Melbourne the night before with the assistance of diesel Y164.
