Remarks & Notes |
A trio of the IHB's famed EMD end-cab switchers heads eastbound through the Calumet Park junction with a cut of empty coil cars bound for the nearby Northwest Indiana steel mills. The IHB was known as the first railroad to completely dieselize its fleet, and many of these switchers soldiered on into the 1990s and 2000s for the Harbor. Tom Golden photo. |
