Two EMD F40PH-3s pull a 23-car No. 1, the “Canadian,” westbound past a mountain lake at Henry House, Alberta, on the afternoon of July 8, 2014. The train is so long that part of it is not visible and still rolling off the Snaring River Bridge. Behind the baggage-dorm car is a deadheading rebuilt Park-series dome-observation, with new luxury accommodations noted with two larger “picture” windows in place of the normal four on forward portion of this side of the car. The car also has a new charcoal gray letterboard designating this first class service.
