A carload of brass, including the Premier of the Province of British Columbia and high-ranking railroad officials, near the end of their Vancouver-Mission-Vancouver inspection jaunt. The purpose of the trip was to show off the railroad, focusing on its potential for commuter rail use. They must have had a good trip for the West Coast Express system was given the go-ahead shortly afterwards. At dock at Ballantyne Pier is "Sky Princess", notable for being among the very last passenger vessels built with steam turbines instead of the now ubiquitous Diesels; it is, alas, no more, as it was sent to the breaker a few years ago. The RDC was donated by CP to the Alberta Central Railway Museum.
