Remarks & Notes
The Pennsylvania Railroad's Christiana freight house, built in 1859, stands proud today, lovingly restored by the Lancaster Chapter NRHS. The building was originally used for freight and passengers, then later just for freight. Nearly identical former PRR freight house buildings survive today located at "Bird-in-Hand" and Leaman Place. The smaller, Christiana station, located just east and on the opposite side of the tracks was slated for destruction but instead purchased by a private individual and also restored.
