McCloud River Railroad No. 25 sets out early with an empty log train destined for a fresh load of logs which will then be brought to Northwestern Lumber here in Garibaldi for milling. The fountains of water spray seen in the background are from that very mill. The water helps preserve the logs keeping them from drying out, catching fire and also helps stops infestation by burrowing insects looking for a place to lay eggs. In actuality, this locomotive, native to northern California, is now part of a collection of locomotives rostered by the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad and was preforming a runby for patrons of a Lerro Productions charter.
