It's a cool beautiful October afternoon at Debutts Yard in Chattanooga, TN, and the power of NS 131 (Knoxville,TN-Chattanooga,TN) is sitting idle on the diesel shop lead waiting for the diesel hostler to come and retrieve the motor set. While the U-man utility man for short, is about to cross over the lead, and receiving track to hang a blue flag, we're once again looking at a shining example of railroads getting their money worth out of their equipment. An 8600 series Dash 8-40C is soaking up the sun, and by the looks of this old motor it's seen better days.
Looking back down memory lane at the last generation of GE spartan cab which includes the six axles C series and four axles B series throughout the various of Class 1 Railroads in North America throughout the years.
