Locomotive # 2147 of the class 21 of the SNCB is entering Bruxelles-Nord station with a doubledeck push-pull train of M5 cars. 60 of this 4400 horsepower class 21 for 3000 V DC were built between 1984 and 1987 by La Brugeoise et Nivelles SA (BN) and SA Ateliers de Constructions Electriques de Charleroi (ACEC). The M5 cars were built by Bombardier from 1984 to 1987 and were painted in a marroon-red then. Between 2008 and 2011 there was a heavy rebuilding with air conditioning, automatic doors, new interieur, windows and paint in light grey.
