McCook, Nebraska, is a division point on the BNSF Railway, where the Akron Sub and the Hastings Sub meet. (And also where Central Time gives way to Mountain Time on the railroad.) The small yard here also includes a modest engine facility, where power for several locals is fueled and sanded. BNSF GP39-3R 2697 is former BNSF GP35 2638, and Santa Fe 2938 before that (and ATSF 3438 and 1438 even earlier.). Behind it is GP40X 3030 (ex-ATSF 3800.) This is former Chicago Burlington & Quincy trackage. (McCook, Nebraska – August 19, 2017)
