Downtown Sylva rarely sees rail traffic these days. Blue Ridge Southern's westernmost regular customer is at MP 43, east of town, and Great Smoky Mtns RR operations are from Dillsboro west. That leaves the stretch in between used only for a rare move to ferry something in or out of GSM, or an occasional car to Jackson Paper, just east of here. In this shot, T59 has held on to their spacer car and empty LPG tankers and shoved GSM's new locomotive west to the interchange. They are returning eastbound through Sylva on their way back to Canton.

just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
