Dead in Lead: NS 19G (Croxton, NJ to Enola, PA) heads west on the Norfolk Southern Lehigh Line. While on the Conrail Lehigh Line, the crew needed to shut down the lead unit's prime mover due to shaking while on higher notches. As a result, the sole motive power for the long mixed freight was provided by the second unit, NS 4044 (AC44C6M; rebuilt from C40-9 NS 8851 in April 2017). The leader was rebuilt from SD70 NS 2541 in April 2019. NS 19G was replaced by the expanded version on NS 11K (Croxton, NJ to Elkhart, IN) in May 2024.
