| Making its way from San Diego to the Santa Barbara suburb of Goleta is Amtrak train 765. This six-car train has a pair of California Department of Transportation (CDTX) Siemens "Chargers" on the rear: 2122 and 2116. This is most likely due to the fact that the "protection unit" based in San Diego has been swapped out and that locomotive will be dropped off in Los Angeles when train 765 arrives at Los Angeles Union Station in about an hour.
