| Here's an interesting lash-up of what are arguably Nevada Northern's two most photogenic locomotives. In the lead, we have the high steppin' Baldwin 10-wheeler #40 and bringing up the rear, the pumpkin-colored Alco RS-3 #109....which is the unit providing the power in this case. This shot depicts a yard move in which #40 is being repositioned from the machine shop to the engine house. #40 is scheduled to undergo a complete running gear rehab as she approaches her 100th birthday. |
