Remarks & Notes |
FEC 905 on the old main line west of St. Augustine heading westbound. This is the original main line from St. Augustine to Palatka then to Bunnell before heading southward. The Moultrie Cutoff was built in 1926 directly between St. Augustine to Bunnell for a direct route. In 1988 this line was abandoned. But then through a cooperative effort between the FEC, Con Agra foods and St. Johns County the line was actually reactivated to about 5 miles west of St. Augustine. This is the first shot of a FEC train on the old branch now called the Wilbur Wright Lead. A careful observer will spy Progress Rail 3001 as the second motor. |
