150 Years of Building America. 150 years ago today President Abraham Lincoln signed the Pacific Railway Act. After much growth and modernization, Union Pacific is as strong as ever. On its 150th birthday, Union Pacific put on a strong performance on the Chester Subdivision, which runs south out of St. Louis. Fallen flags, including 2 patched CNW units and a few patched SPs, were common. The gem of the day was MCHPB with UP 2001, although it ran in bad lighting. The award for the most colorful consist goes to this train, MASNL, which includes an NS SD60, a freshly painted GMTX geep, and an SD38-2, UPY 814. Overall, it was a pretty impressive show for the railfan; one of the best from the biggest class I. Happy birthday UP!
