Eastbound leaving Tolland
After meeting Amtrak No. 5 at Tolland, Colorado, an eastbound Union Pacific coal train sweeps through the big curve and over Boulder Creek on the morning of October 22, 2012. Former Southern Pacific AC4400CW No. 6361 leads the train through a fortunate “sucker hole.” Definition of sucker hole: “Sun stays out, or momentarily comes out, illuminating only part of a scene in the correct location for a well-lit railroad photo. Usually has a dark background. Usually doesn’t happen.”
