A smart trio of GP9s leads Boston & Maine train EDSA (East Deerfield to Salem, MA) through the town of Shirley on a bright summer morning. This job normally ran with matched sets of GP9s rather than the second generation power that handled most road freights, even after the Guilford organization pooled power from the B&M, MEC, and D&H.
