The early days of merged railroads are often interesting, as a wide variety of railroads and paint schemes show up far from their old homes. Such was the case in Roseville, California, on March 11, 2001, with the five-year-old Union Pacific merger. Found at the UP's JR Davis Yard are a Union Pacific GP40 (rebuilt to a "GP38-2") 2555 and former Southern Pacific GP40M-2 7118, surrounded by a pair of Rio Grande GP40-2s - 3130 and 3117.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
